So its been a while since i've updated my livejournal and im at home with nothing to do soooo.... i decided an update was in order. Jon, Melissa, Kevin, Amy (slut) and I (ho) decided randomly to go ice skating down in culver city one thursday because everyone thought it would be fun to laugh at me when i was trying to learn to ice skate (yes, its true, i was 20 years old and had never been ice skating!!).

[Nov. 22nd, 2004|11:57 pm] |
So I just wanted to point out that I have some of the most amazing friends EVER!! Everyone took me out to lunch on Sunday after church - which was a total surpise!! As I was unaware of the plans, I did not have my camera so unfortunately I do not have any pics but I do have pics of when Kristen took me out to dinner to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse - sooooo good! I got tons of chocolate for my birthday, which of course made me very happy! Thanks guys!! I love you!!!!!!!!!

Also, I was lucky enough to get to see Billy Graham this weekend with Kevin, Lauren, and her friend from high school Ashley.
wow i've never seen the rose bowl this full for a football game. maybe thats cause God is cooler than football ~me God is cooler than UCLA football. i don't know if He's cooler than Oklahoma or USC football. well i mean He's cooler but people just get more excited about football. ~kev |

| NOR CAL!!! |
[Sep. 8th, 2004|09:13 am] |
After getting back from Florida, I decided to take a little jaunt to beautiful Nor Cal to visit some great people from UCLA! It was so great to see some of the people that I miss so much!
I stayed with Karen and her beautiful family. We decided to go visit "Mystery Spot" since it is supposedly so much better than Gravity Hill. I remain unconvinced.

Driving up, I had no air conditioning and no music (thank you jerks who stole my car stereo!). Not too good for six hours. Luckily, my friend Tony works at best buy and got me a great deal on a new stereo for my car. Thanks Tony!

After a nice stay, I set out to visit my grandparents, who live on the opposite side of San Francisco.

Little did i know that I had awful directions. This is the golden gate bridge ... the first time I passed it.

My grandparents told me to take 19th avenue all the way across, so when I saw this sign,
I failed to notice the "S" indicating that it was going south, not north! Which led me to this nice little town

Finally, I made it back to Downtown San Francisco where the nice gentlemen in the red car let me follow them to the golden gate bridge.

I finally made it to the bridge (thank you unknown men in the red car!)

After a successful crossing of the bridge (two hours after the first attempt), I finally made it to Petaluma (what a welcome sight!)

After an awesome time with my grandparents, it was time to head back to so cal. I left at 4 in the morning (so early!) and followed my grandma out past frisco. No getting lost this time! (don't worry she was going that way anway, i swear!) It was perhaps the first time I had seen the sunrise all summer.

Thinking I was past all harship half way home on the 5, I was startled when suddenly my car engine stopped. So, I coasted to the edge of the road and went to call someone, only to find out .... I had no service (thank you, AT&T). So I walked to the call box (luckily not too far away). Twenty minutes later, a nice tow truck showed up to charge me $150 to tow my car to the nearest auto repair shop.
$65 and an hour later, I was once again on the road. Finally, at 3:30 in the afternoon, almost twelve hours after I began my journey home, I pulled gratefully into my driveway. |
